Following First Debate in August, Sen. Smith Agrees to Debates in September and October

In Addition to Farmfest, Sen. Smith Says She has Agreed to Debates Hosted by Duluth News Tribune and Minnesota Public Radio

ST. PAUL [08/21/20] — Today, the Smith campaign announced that U.S. Senator Tina Smith has agreed to participate in debates in September and October hosted by the Duluth News Tribune/Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce and Minnesota Public Radio, respectively. This is in addition to August’s Farmfest debate–which was broadcast by WCCO radio–where Sen. Smith and former one-term Congressman and now Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Jason Lewis squared off for the first time.

The Farmfest debate was held on August 4. Sen. Smith has agreed to participate in the Duluth News Tribune/Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce debate on September 18, and October 2 for the Minnesota Public Radio debate.

These are the three debates Sen. Smith has agreed to, and is the same number of debates held in each of Sens. Smith and Klobuchar’s U.S. Senate races in the 2018 election. It is also the same number of general election debates Lewis participated in during both his 2016 and 2018 congressional campaigns.
