Brave Minnesotans have courageously served our country, but the battles our service members face don’t end when they come home. We have to make sure they get the benefits they’ve earned during their time in service.
Tina has fought for Minnesota’s veterans in the Senate, especially when it comes to getting them the health care and benefits they deserve. She introduced a bipartisan bill to support veterans exposed to harmful radiation. Tina also introduced a bill to make it more efficient for veteran farmers to access the services they need from the Department of Agriculture. And she’s pushing to end the VA’s backlog of cases to make sure veterans don’t have to wait months before getting treatment.
And as the Governor’s Chief of Staff and Lt. Governor, Tina helped streamline the process for veteran-owned businesses to apply for state contracts and helped secure a $10.8 million increase for staffing at veterans homes. She also helped to expand the Minnesota GI bill and fought for $12 million in funding increases for the National Guard to fund tuition and bonuses.
